Pete roughing it in the field, the Aussie way…. with a Fosters.
So another Glastonbury festival has just finished, and another year goes by without me going. I really should’ve gone while over there, one thing I regret not doing.
Luckily the BBC website had pretty extensive coverage so I can still see & read all about it.
I was surprised to see such a wide variety of bands playing to be honest, in the build up to the event all you really hear about is the big names that are appearing but over the 3 days Pete & Co. were treated to samples of a lot of lesser known bands, playing on various smaller stages….some of them destined for bigger and better things im sure.
Some of the bands included: Bloc Party, Doves, The Killers, The White Stripes, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Coldplay, Primal Scream, Garbage, the Coral…
Hopefully I’ll make it to sunny England again to attend this event with all my mates living o/s.

“Dactor, it’s me ahrse. I’d loik ya ta teyhk a look, if ya woot?”
So the doctor gets him to drop his pants and takes a look. “Incredible” he says, “there is a £20 note lodged up here.” Tentatively he eases the twenty out of the man’s bottom, and then a 10 pound note appears. “This is amazing!” exclaims the Doctor. What do you want me to do?”
“Well fur gadness sake teyhk it out, man!” shrieks the patient.
The doctor pulls out the tenner and another twenty appears and another and another and another, etc….
Finally the last note comes out and no more appear.
“Ah Dactor, tank ya koindly, dat’s moch batter . How moch was in dare den?”
The Doctor counts the pile of cash. “£1,990 exactly.”
“Ah, dat’d be roit” says the Irishman.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn’t always fair.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

Can you believe it, what a fiasco at Indianapolis on the weekend!
This photo really sums it up but for those who want more here’s my summary explaining the reasons behind this strange looking photo. The drivers whose cars are running on Michelin tyres chose to pull out of the race after having been urged to do so by the tyre supplier, and returned to the pits after the formation lap. Michelin stated “The drivers’ safety could not be guaranteed for”. So only the teams running on Bridgestones started: Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi.
So, Michael Schumacher took his first win this season at the Grand Prix of the USA. There was not really much competition, though. I’m sure everyone could’ve picked the final standings. Michael, followed by his team-mate Barrichello and Jordan’s Tiago Monteiro all landed a spot on the podium. Narain Karthikeyan in the second Jordan came in fourth, followed by Christijan Albers and Patrick Friesacher.
It may well be the exit of F1 USA, I’m sure the fans who travelled to the speedway certainly will be thinking twice about next year. I think F1 should just cut it’s losses and remove Indianapolis from the calender. I mean, it’s hard to imagine how many people have been disappointed in so many ways. In particular:
Broadcasters – how many viewers will they have lost? ITV paid extra so that they could provide more of the US Grand Prix to the viewers.
Sponsor’s and advertisers – all paid top dollar for their logos to appear on cars and trackside.
Fans – well, you only need to view the pics of US fans (some who travelled hundreds of miles) sticking there thumbs down. In addition the number of other blogs posting their views.
Lastest News:Teams could boycott next weekend’s French Grand Prix if they get severe penalties for their role in the Indy fiasco, says Minardi’s Paul Stoddart.

First came the disposable nappy. Then came the disposable camera, and before long all weddings birthdays & regretably office Christmas parties had a throwaway Kodak camera on every table. Now America, land of the trashcan and the landfill, brings us the disposable camcorder.
The Pure Digital Video Camcorder has a 1.4 in LCD, weighs 5 oz and can take 20 minutes of digital film & sound, which is surely more than enough for Giles to do a pants down run along Oxford street.
It’s not available downunder but it’s only a matter time. For more information click here
