Benefits of Quitting Smoking

The following is from a document (can’t remember source) that helped me quit smoking.

Benefits of Quitting Smoking Once you quit smoking your body starts on a path toward full recovery

The ways your body begins to repair itself as soon as a person quits smoking follows this time line:

  1. 20 minutes: Your blood pressure, heart rate and temperature of your hands and feet become normal.

  2. 8 hours: Oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in your blood become normal.

  3. 1 day: Your risk of heart attack begins to decrease.

  4. 2 days: Your sense of smell and taste improves. Nerve endings start to re-grow. Mucus in your airways begins to break up and clear our your lungs.

  5. 2 weeks to 3 months: Your circulation becomes better and breathing improves. It becomes easier to walk.

  6. 1 to 9 months: Coughing, sinus congestion, shortness of breath and fatigue decrease and you have more energy.

  7. 1 year: Your risk of heart disease is now less than half of what it was a year ago.

  8. 5 years: Your risk of cancer of the lung, mounth, throat and esophagus are less than half-of-a-pack-a-day smoker

  9. 10 years: Your risk of dying of lung cancer is now similar to non smokers. Pre-cancerous cells have been replaced.

  10. 15 years: You are at no more risk of heart disease than if you never smoked.

Milk Bath

A blonde heard that milk baths would make her beautiful. She left a note for her milkman to leave 25 gallons of milk.

When the milkman read the note, he felt there must be a mistake. He thought she probably meant 2.5 gallons. So he knocked on the door to clarify the point.

The blonde came to the door and the milkman said, “I found your note asking me to leave 25 gallons of milk. Did you mean 2.5 gallons?”

The blonde said, “I want 25 gallons. I’m going to fill my bathtub up with milk and take a milk bath so I can look young and beautiful again.”

The milkman asked, “Do you want it pasteurized?”

The blonde said, “No, just up to my tits. I can splash it on my face

Pickem’

Someone asked me recently “which songs do you remember from your teenage years?”. After several minutes of thinking about my answer and coming to the realisation I’m bloody old now, I concluded there were too many to list so I narrowed it down the the first ten that came to mind.

And here they are in no particular order:

  1. Kris Kross - Warm it up (video)

  2. Beastie Boys - Shake Your Rump (video) or So What’cha Want (video)

  3. Stereo MCs - Connected (video)

  4. Arrested Development - People Everyday (video)

  5. De La Soul - Roller Skating Jam (video) or The Magic Number (video)

  6. Radiohead - Creep (video)

  7. Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit (video)

  8. Public Enemy - Don’t believe the hype (video)

  9. Naughty by Nature - Hip Hop Hooray (video)

  10. Cure - Close to me (video)

After you’ve finished laughing, take the time to post your top ten(10) songs that come to mind!
